For my birthday, I purchased tickets for my family to visit Maui, which is an island right next to us. We can see it from where we live but the boy way we could go is flying.. I found a great deal on this local airline and thought to give it a try! It was a ten seater small air plain:)
We flies from waimea to Kahului in 45mins. Since all the passengers arrives early, they decided to leave early. I loved the flexibility of it!!

手荷物検査ナシ
乗客全員そろった時点で搭乗開始といったかなり適当なスケジュールで
予定よりも大分早く出発
その自由さが好きです

We got to stay at our landlord's brother's house in Kula. And that also is a place where my friend lives! I had a wonderful reunion with my friend and her family. What a nice birthday:)

そして、そのクラに私のお友達も住んでいる
ということで、そのお友達の家族が夕飯によんでくれました

Monday..we went to Lahaina.

We don't have this view in the big island, the ocean right next to the road. It reminded me of Oahu.

On the way back to Kula, we stopped by at Maui Ocean Center(a small aquarium).

Tuesday..we went to a town called Makawao and got some good tasting pastries from Komoda bakery. Yum!
火曜日 マカヴァオ そして有名なパンやさんで買いだめ（アンパン）
We stopped by at their library. If you want to go to Haleakala national park for free plus get more information on trail etc, then go sign up for "back pack Haleakala"'program here at Makawao library. You need hawaii state library card and drivers license. You could check out the backpack for a week.
We drove back to Kula where we stayed and visited the lavender farm.

We ran into our friends from the big island!! It was a fun surprise :)

Wednesday..we drove to Hana side. The road to get there was horrible with crazy amount of pin curves with no mirror with narrow and windy roads for 2hours! I thought I would die...but at last, we visited Kipahele national park and hiked up 2+miles up the mountain to see the 400ft tall waterfall. The kids were hiking as same speed as the the adults!
水曜日 ハナまでドライブ。かなり恐ろしいピンカーブだらけの道を長々二時間。気分悪くなったところで到着。そして思いがけなく長かったハイキング。。
でも子供たちはケロッとして大人と同じ速度でぐんぐん歩いていました
往復8km！
After almost 5miles of hike, we made sure kids get tired. So we let them swim in a pond.
However, despite out expectation, they didn't sleep for he whole entire 2hrs drive! Darn it!

My friend's family invited us over for dinner again. That was VERY helpful. Thank you, my friend!

Thursday..We decided to visit our church's historical site(the very first chapel that was built in Maui) in Kula. Then, left for Kihei to swim. We took an evening flight back to the big island. It was beautiful to see the night view as well.
Overall, I think it was worth some money to spend to make fun memories. I need to say that it's always fun to go for adventures if you have a friend or so who already live there.
Now we want to go see other Hawaiian islands!

そしてキヘイへ行って泳いで
夕方帰宅
今回の旅行、お金を費やしたかいあって、とても良い思い出ができました
でも、やっぱり新しい場所に行って楽しもうと思ったら
そこに住んでる友達に会うことだな、と改めて感じました
もっと他のハワイ諸島を見に行きたくなりました！
