夏休みの想い出 Memories of Summer Break

イアンのお母さんと義理のお父さんが訪問

一週間弱という短い期間中にまずはお義父さんが３日間倒れ

そして私が倒れ。。結局おもてなしも大してできませんでした

でも子供たちは嬉しかったみたいです

Ian's mom and his step father came to visit

They only had a little less than a week to spend with us

We were very excited but first of all, grandpa got sick for a couple of days

and I got sick for the rest of their time here!! 

I couldn't do the things I wanted to do for them.. but at least the boys had tons of fun with them.

Hope they could stay longer next time!

 Someone was very happy getting whatever he wanted!

That was his actual b-day. I was so sick that we couldn't have an official party on that day, though.

イアンのお母様の奇抜なギフト

巨大ボール。。って中にも入れるんですが、

なんと空気の注入口が１２個もある！！膨らますだけで死にそうでした

ありがとう。お母さん。。

Ian's mom brought a giant ball for the boys!

All the kids around the neighborhood got together and jumping on it or crawling in and out etc..

The ball had 12valves! I thought I would pass out!!

 

 結局本当の誕生日の一週間後に誕生日会をしました

We ended up having Kyle's party a week after his actual birthday.

 恐竜大好きなのでテーマはもちろんコレ

しかもこんな帽子まで売ってた！

しっくりきてます。

His favorite thing now is dinosaurs.

So, the theme was dinosaur and we found this great looking hat!

 コストコさすがっ！

We found out that Costco makes dinosaur cake!

It was so cute. 

I wish we could have this when my in laws were still here..darn!

そーんな三歳になったお兄さんですが。。

私がトイレに行った数分の間に

こんなことしてました

しかも図書館の本！

My baby is now three years old boy.

But it doesn't mean that he doesn't create any more trouble..

 While I was taking care of my business for few minutes,

he did this to a library book!!!

and saw the wild turkeys up on the tree!?

They were flying(or jumping) from one branch to another..

but

they all got mixed up in one dirty looking play dough in a day..

I guess that's a fact that you don't see in pinterest!

We have baby geckos all over the place.

Kyle is really fascinated by it.

 ショーンの新学期が始まりました

新しい学校で、今年からは普通学級

期待と不安の入り交じる新学期が感じ取られるショットです。笑

 土曜日はイアンが仕事なので子供たちと楽しい事する日です

この日はホノカアにあるカロパ公園へ

５０分のドライブ。。

誰かに写真とってもらおうとしたら

人っ子一人いない！さすが田舎〜

仕方ないから自分撮りです。笑

Ian works on Saturdays so I decided to have fun with the boys

This day we drove to a park called "Kalopa park" in Honoka'a 

which was 50 mins drive from our house

I thought of asking someone to take a photo for us

but

no one was there! 

So, I stretched my arm to do it by myself and this was how it turned out..haha

でも、水の中で見てみると、ずーっと二ヤーと笑って

口閉じてない。。シュノーケルの意味無い？笑

He loves this thing.

But when I saw him under water, he kept on smiling and wouldn't keep his mouth shut!

It might take a while for  him to get why he has the mouth part.. haha

新居と近況 Moving and Updates

 やっとブログが更新できました。

約二ヶ月、毎日が戦争のようでした。４月の終わりから新居探しを始め、ほぼ二ヶ月半家がみつからず、やっと見つかったら決めて３日で引っ越し開始。ワイメアから新居のあるワイコロアまでは車で約３０分。近いから余裕かと思いきや、良し悪しでした。６月からイアンの新しい仕事が始まり、ショーンも夏休みで家にいる。家探しから引っ越しまで、旦那が日中不在で子供二人連れて全てを任された私はさすがにヘロヘロでした。大きな家具は教会の人たちがトラックをたくさん出してくださって、助けてくれてかなり助かったのだけど、残りは全部私が子連れで引っ越すことに。子守りをしてくれた友達、引っ越しを手伝ってくれた友達。みんなありがとう！もう二度とやりたくないです。はい。

しかもそんな最中に不良車を誤って購入。その手続きも全部私にやってきた。。もう勘弁です！　まあ、ストレスだらけの愚痴は終わりにします。

が、とにかく新居に落ち着きました。夫の仕事は順調。家は快適。ワイメアのように寒くないので、やっとハワイに住んでいる感じです。

 OK, finally, I'm being able to update the blog! We started looking for a place to move in April. It took almost two months to finally found a place. Meanwhile, Ian started working for the new job and Sean's school was out for summer, meaning that I was left with the task of house hunting, house viewing, filling up the paper works, getting in touch with realtors, moving etc. all were on me along with taking care of the boys. It was CRAZY!  My most reliable baby sitting friends were gone visiting their homes off island so I was totally in panic.  I don't want to raise my children in this island for the rest of their lives but I need to say, I do not want to move again!! I'm not going to carry  something that weigh as much as I weigh all by myself!!! I AM DONE!

Anyhow, thank you for those individuals who helped me with watching my kids, taking time to move our big furniture using your own trucks. I appreciate your help.

Now we are settling down and are loving this condo. Ian's work is good, the weather here is better than Waimea(in my personal opinion). I feel like I am living in Hawaii.

We didn't have much to do, so I took the boys for driving to Honoka'a. Sean is up on the tree.

 うちのコンドミニアムについているジャグジーとプール

特に子供たち向けのアトラクションが無いこの島で、暇なので、夏休みはほぼ毎日プールに行ってます。（というか家の目の前）

Our condo has a hot tub and a pool. There is pretty much nothing for kids attraction here in this island except ocean, this place has become our kids' favorite place to go. (and it's right in front of our house)

 ショーンが学校で作った恐竜。けっこう上出来！

Sean made this dinosaur. Pretty good!

 Kids believed that this little Cameleon we would find in Waimea was a baby dinosaur.

Now they believe that this wild turkey that come to our back yard is a dinosaur, too!

ハワイの癖に魚が高い！けど、小魚は安いので、南蛮漬けに。色も奇麗で美味しかったです。

Fish is expensive! even in Hawaii. Except these small fish. I made this dish with those small fish and many veggies that I had in the fridge! It looked great and tasted great:)

 

05-26 thru 06-02

イアンは学校の先生を辞めた後、ヒルトンの仕事が始まるまで１週間の休暇がありました

Ian had a week off between his old job as a teacher and the new job in Hilton.

イアンのお友達が遊びに来てくれたのでここワイメアで有名なパンケーキをまた食べに行きました

Ian's friends came to visit us so we took them to Waimea's famous pancake place:) yum!

 ショーンはかなり海が好きになってきました

波の中にも平気で入って行って楽しんでいました

Sean has gotten used to be in the ocean. He loves it now.

He even started going in the waves!

 イアンが捕まえた魚を食べていたら。。つまったー！

でも大丈夫。以前の経験を生かして、お酢を飲ませたらケロッとしていました。

すごい。酢力！！

Ian caught a fish and we were eating it for dinner. And.. a bone stuck in Sean's throat!

But this time, I was calm since I remembered the last time that same thing happened to his brother. I gave him a cup of vinegar to drink. And lo and behold, he was fine after all!! 

 ケアラケクア湾（キャプテンクックモニュメントの反対側）で泳いでみたけど

特に魚は見えず。いつもいるはずのイルカにも会えず。。

ちゃんとカヤックレンタルして反対側まで行かないと色々見えないことが分かりました

Kealakekua bay(the other side of where captain cook monument is) where dolphins live.

But we didn't see them that day.. 

でもそれだけでまた２時間弱かかって家まで帰るのはいやだったので

近くにある観光地。オールドペインテッドチャーチに行ってみました

手描きのぬくもりのある木造の教会堂。こじんまりした素敵な教会堂でした。

こんなジャングルの中に建造することだけでも大変だったはず。信仰って、動詞です！

We didn't feel like just drive back home, so we stopped by at a small church building called "old painted church". The chapel was built with woods and the inside was hand painted that gave us some warm feeling. It was in the middle of the jungle, though,. I can't even imagine building something like that in the hot and humid place like that. Faith is a verb!
