04-21 thru 04-28

 今週は。。いつの間にか終わっていました。

だからか、写真も少ないです。

長男、色々被り物にハマる、、でもコレ見て思ったけど

私もかつて、変なタヌキみたいなぬいぐるみの帽子かぶって公園うろついてる写真を実家で見たことがあるような。

遺伝か？　

This week has passed by so quickly that I can't believe it's over.. Therefore, we only have few pictures.

Sean is into wearing things on his head/face. At first I thought he was weird but then I remember I saw a picture of myself wearing a weird stuffed animal hat at a park when I was his age.. OK, I guess it's genetic. 

 近所の日本人のお知り合いの方のお母さんが我が家にお土産を持って来てくださいました。佃煮！おいしかったー！！　

そしてあの小魚が大から小まできちんとサイズそろえて串に刺してある芸の細かさに、故郷、日本が懐かしくなった私でした。

Our Japanese neighbor's mother came to visit them and she gave us a souvenier. It was very delicious! Check out all the little fishes lined up according to its sizes! That's an art. Those little things make me miss my home, Japan!

And it was huge. YAY!!

Our life in Hawaii is tough but this is one of the moments that we feel blessed!

 

A thought about my sons 息子たちについて

最近、子供達が小さいうちに（思春期が来てお母さん離れする前に）子供達との時間を楽しもうと努力しています。が、ショーンが学校から帰って来たら、ほぼ毎日戦争のよう。。
特に最悪なのは夕飯の準備。普段はDVDをつけてて、カイルはそれに夢中。ただ、自閉症を持っているショーンはなかなかじっとしていられません。大体、カイルの髪を舐めたり、叫んだり、ソファーに飛び上がったり飛び降りたり、などなど。とにかく私の注目を求めて色々します。
今日はまた弟の髪を度々舐めるので、さすがの弟も大好きなDVDを背に私に助けを求めに来ました。そうして弟をなぐさめているうちに兄はカーペット（大きいサイズ）でとつぜんパンツ脱いでおしっこ！！ジャーと音を聞きながら、体でショーンを止めようと必死で動こうとするけど１２キロある弟君を抱っこしたまま早く動けず・・みたいなパニック状態で気づいたときには叫んでました。私。。

こういったことはほぼ毎日の夕飯支度時間に起こるので、できるだけショーンが帰って来る前に夕飯の準備は終わらせようと努めています。が、そうすると弟君が暇しちゃったり。。でなかなか思うように毎日はできていないのが現実。

カイルはそんなお兄ちゃんに本当に忍耐強いです。というか本当にお兄ちゃんが好きです。まぁ、生まれたときから自閉症のお兄ちゃんがそばにいる生活だから、忍耐強くされてきたって感じかもしれません。でも、普通の兄弟関係の中ではありえないヘンなストレスに囲まれているカイルのことが不憫に思えることもしばしばです。よく近所の子供たちが遊びに来ては、ショーンと遊びたくないとか、近くにいたくない、と言ってきます。つまり、カイルはショーンにとって唯一の本当の友達なんです。けんかも良くするけど、お互いのことが大好きみたいです。カイルはそういった意味で、私にとって良い模範です。幼い子供って他の人を判断しない（というかできない）っていうことを私に教えてくれている気がします。幼い子供達は自然と無条件の愛＝キリストの愛をもっているみたいです。

今日食器を洗っていてこんなビデオをみつけました。(英語だけど）
自閉症のお兄ちゃんについて妹が語っているビデオです。
丁度カイルのことを考えていた日の締めくくりにぴったりのメッセージでした。
涙があふれてきました。結局「私」がカイルのように、またはキリストのようにならないといけない、と気づかされました。

I've been trying to enjoy the time that I have with my boys especially when they are still young(and not hating their mom,yet!). However, it's almost as if I were in a war after Sean comes back from school. The worst time of the day is when I try to cook for dinner. I normally put a dvd on for the boys and Kyle watches it fine but Sean who has autism can't sit still and starts licking his brother's hairs, pushing him, screaming, jumping up and down the couch etc. trying to get my attention. Today, he was licking Kyle's hairs again and again and finally, Kyle complained and stopped watching his favorite dvd and came to me for help. While I was comforting him, Sean took off his pants and started peeing on our living room 10ft*12ft rug!! I screamed as I was struggling trying to get to Sean to physically stop him while I had Kyle(30lbs) in my arm.

This kind of stuff happens almost every day's dinner prep time so I try to do this before Sean gets home. But sometimes, I can't because if I do, Kyle doesn't get attention as much as he wants while I cook.

Kyle has been really patient with his brother, Sean. He truly loves him. It's maybe that he's made to be patient because he has Sean who has autism since he was born. As I was thinking about Kyle, I was worried that he's had to deal with weird stress that not a lot of siblings have to experience:i.e. being licked, hearing screaming etc. When I had other kids over to our house, they always tell me that they don't want to play or stay close to Sean because he does things that they don't like him to do. So, really, the only person that is put up with him for the longest time is Kyle. And probably, he is Sean's best friend now. They fight but they love each other. Kyle is a great example for me. He shows me how a little child doesn't judge (or can't judge) people. They naturally have unconditional love=Christ-like love.

I came across to this short video clip while I was doing dishes tonight.
It was a wonderful conclusion right when I was thinking about Kyle.
Tears came down my cheeks. I came to realize that "I" need to be better like Kyle or like Christ.

04-14 thru 04-21

 今週は子供たち万歳！な一週間でした

火曜日、カイルはお友達とまたビーチ

そしてポーズを決めてみたり。。大興奮

This week was full of kids activities

Tuesday, Kyle and I went to the beach with our friends 

Kyle learned how to pose as a Japanese boy.. haha

 土曜日はイアンがオアフ島で研修

朝10時に家を出発してからヒルトンホテル、買い物、公園。。イアンがコナに到着するのは６時半。それまでとにかく子供たちのエネルギーを燃やし尽くした一日でした。

ただこの二人がいつも一緒に着いてくる（というか目が離せない）ので

公衆トイレでも一つのブースに三人で押し込む。。しかもどっちかが必ず鍵を開けたがる。って感じで私はゆっくりトイレにも座れず、汗って用を足すので精一杯。気づいたら朝から水着の上にタンクトップと短パンのまま、着替えられずにお店なんかをウロついていたワタシ。もちろんスッピン。はあ。いつの間に私の人生こんなになったんだろー？！

 母は強し！（って違うか。。）

Saturday, Ian had to go to Oahu for a job training/meeting. The boys and I left the house at 10a.m. and we went Hilton hotel, shopping and park.. to burn the boys' energy till Ian gets back around 6:30p.m.  I just can't leave these two kids anywhere so that means they are with me in a public bathroom. There were one time three of us were packed in a tiny bathroom booth and one of them kept wanting to unlock the door while I was rushing to take care of my business! I barely made it through.. At the end of the day, I noticed that I was still wearing the swimsuit that I put on that morning with a tank top and a short pants.. running through the store etc with no make-up on! What a life. I don't even know when my life turns into something like this! haha

OK, it's Rhino..The boys totally thought it was a dinosaur.

Sean was very into it and was riding on and off for about 30mins.

There was my autistic son! 

 While his brother was obsessed with the rhino, he came to see the flamingo.

 苦労のかい合って珍しくショーンも昼寝！よっしゃー

私寝てないけどエネルギー回復した感じした

It was worth it for me to drag them around in the hot sun

Even Sean who doesn't take a nap at all did take a nap!

I didn't get to sleep but I felt like my energy was recharged by having a quiet moment

 日曜は最近４人目の赤ちゃんが生まれたばかりの家族を招待

食事を一緒にしたらデザート持って来てくれました

すごい。甘そう。。さすが

We invited our family friends who just had their fourth baby 

we had dinner together and they brought us a cake with peeps on!

最近、自閉症の子が名前を呼ばれても振り向かずにその辺をうろうろしてしまう傾向があるってことが研究によって認められたって記事を読みました

かなり危険とも言われていて・・

私は今までショーンがうろうろしてかなり遠くまで行ってしまうことが

とてもストレスで、しかも自分の教育のせいかもと自分を攻めていたけど

それも障害の一部だと分かりちょっと荷が軽くなった？が、一人でどこかに行ってしまうことを改善する手だてはまだ見つかっていないらしい。

結局まだまだ目は離せません！

I found out about a study showing that most of autistic children tend to wonder and that is very dangerous. I would get very stressed out when Sean disappears all by him self and just took off.

I thought it was my fault but this study made me feel better.

Although, it doesn't mean that they found a way to prevent that behavior, 

I guess my war of chasing him after hasn't quite finished, yet!

04-07 thru 04-14

今週はとても暑い日が続きました。

それが原因か、なぜかカロリー高い物ばかり食べたくなる。。

ピザ。キッシュ。アイスクリーム。

来週運動しよーっと

アイスクリーム、外で買うとかなり高い〜

ので、コストコで有機のバニラアイスと冷凍ラズベリー、チョコレートチップを

買ってきて全部混ぜてみた

子供たちに大好評でした

This week was HOT! 

It might have been one of the reasons why I craved for high calorie foods.

Pizza, Quiche, Ice cream...

I will work out next week!

I was amazed how pricy it can be if I buy ice cream cones for my whole family.

It cost more than $10 to feed us four.

So, I went to Costco, bought organic vanilla ice cream, frozen organic berries.

I added some chocolate chips to them and mix them all. It was like cold stone at home!

The kids loved it.

Kyle and I went to visit Hilton hotel in Waikoloa since I heard that there is a free parking lot 

They had a little train going between the hotel buildings

Kyle had a blast with his friend!

同い年の二人が色々食べたり飲んだりしてるところ

We watched our neighbors' four boys(yes, we had a total of 6 boys in our house!!)

We had a movie night with them at our place.

The kids had a lot of things to do/learn

でもなぜかショーンは担架でくつろいでますが。。

まあ救急隊のおっさんもくつろいでるからいいか。。

今週は毎日明け方２時３時に起きて５時６時まで寝ない長男がいて
私はなんだか疲れていた
そして火山ガスでアレルギー悪化するわ。。色々でしたが
来週は健康レポートできるようにがんばりまっす！
Sean was waking up every day around 2-3a.m. and wouldn't be able to go back to sleep till 5-6a.m.
As always, I am on night duty for him.
I was very exhausted and the volcano vog made my allergy worse..
Hope I could report something healthier next week!

03-31 thru 04-07

 月曜日、普段は午前中だけみる友達の子供を

今月は全日でみることになっている

ということで昼食の床の片付けはいやだーと思ったワタシ

裏の庭（ていうほど凄くない）でピクニック

Monday- I usually watch my friend's boy just for the morning as a baby swap.

But for this month, I'm watching him for the all day Monday.

Anyhow, I just got tired of cleaning up the messy floor after they eat.

I decided to have a little picnic outside of our house.

 

Kyle stood up on top of the little hill and screams

"Okaasan!(Mom!) It's Kyle's temple!"

Such a LDS kid... He is obsess with temples nowadays and especially with the angel that sits on top.

 火曜日、午前中にお友達を呼んで、手づくりで粘土を作った

で、午後学校から帰ってきたショーンは粘土に熱中

が、色分けして作ったのをぜーんぶごちゃまぜにされた。ガーン

Tuesday, I invited one of our good friends to come make a home made play dough.

I color coded and everything but once Sean came home, he mixed all up...gees!

 が、初めて自分の家族を認識した作品を作った

ので関心：一番大きいのがお父さん、次がお母さんで自分、そして一番小さいのが弟らしい

ちょっとした成長をみせた彼でした

Despite my disappointment, he made his family which showed that he started recognize people around him more.  The biggest one is the dad and the next is mom, himself and Kyle.

Finally, he is passing this mile stone! yey!!

 

水曜日、古着屋半額デー

ということでしばらく顔出してなかった古着屋へ

で、古着じゃなくて新品買った！しかも付いてる額の半額

つまりプーマのシャツはもともと＄２０が約＄３に

そして子供の教会用のワイシャツも。素敵です☆

Wednesday-It's a thrift shop's half off day. 

Since I haven't been there for a while, I decided to check it out.

It's a "thrift" shop but I bought some things brand new! 

I was so proud of myself with these smart purchases that I had to show off~

puma shirt:originally $20 I paid $3

Sean's church shirt, I paid $1.50

That's the way I shop!

Sean has a great teacher who is so loving and is patient.

She has these schedules for each kid in her class room and I needed to make one at home for Sean.

ただブランケットくくっただけ

だけど大ヒット！これいいです。

Friday-I saw this idea on a website and thought of trying it out.

Just tie a blanket on a table. 

So easy but it turned out such a big hit for my boys.

全然ダメな彼。オマルが寂しそうに後ろにボヤケて映ってます。はい。

A guy in potty training.. well, I wish he is more interested in it.

The potty in the back looks little sad to me!

 I was looking at GAP Kids and found some cute cardigans etc but couldn't afford them.

So, I came across this site and used my old sweat shirt and made Sean's cardigan in one night.

Super easy and cute!

 給料日＆夕飯作る気無い＝外食！

近所の評判、アカ寿司さんで。すごいでしょー

美味しかったです

It was a pay day and I didn't have energy to cook.

It led us to take out sushi!

It was so good.

 It was a conference weekend so I decided to bake something yummy.

pecan, mac nuts, caramel cinnamon rolls!

 In Hawaii, the general conference starts at 6a.m. 

So, between the sessions, we took the boys to a park close to our house.

 が、その次の瞬間。最近の悪い癖

髪舐め攻撃！

But the next moment, his bad habit surfaces:

the hair lick!

カイルそそくさと逃げる。痛みも忘れた様子。笑

 Kyle runs away as if he forgot he was hurt! haha

Oh brother!
