内田家７回忌 The Uchida's Family Reunion

私の母方の祖父が亡くなって早７年・・

久し振りに内田家全員集合しました

It's been seven years since my grandfather passed away..

In the Buddist world, we get together and pray for the dead

after 7year, 13year his or her dead

because those are the sacred numbers for the Buddists.

Our little guy must have had a lot of different dreams and magic

in the steamy hot summer Disneyland.

結婚記念日WeddingAnniversary

２年目の記念日だったので、何かしたかった私たち・・

ここ倉吉にも素敵なレストランがありました！駅前のホテルの中にあるレストラン

テーブルのライトアップのパフォーマンスに始まり、最後のデザートはわざわざこんなに！

ディナーの後は、子連れでは入れてもらえないプールへ。久々のデートは楽しかったです。

ショーン君を観てくれていた益田さん、本当にありがとうございました。

It's been two years since we got married so we wanted to do something..

Fortunately, we found a fancy restaurant here in Kurayoshi, Tottori!

They started with a light-up performance on our table and at the end, they made a special plates for our desert! How nice!

Then, we decided to go to a pool where we usually can't get in with our baby.

It was so much fun going out just by two of us for the first time after the baby was born.

Thankful for our nice neighbor couple, the Masuda's who watched Sean for us.

最近　私は三味線を習い始めました

ずっと日本の何か伝統的なものをしてみたいと思っていたけど

機会がなかなかありませんでした

去年　日本舞踊を初めてみたのですが、出会った時は既に臨月・・

その先生の勧めで三味線に移行ということになったのです

先生は８５歳のプロ★　なかなか面白いです　

Recently I started taking "Shamisen" lesson.

I've been wanting to learn some kind of tradditional japanese performances for a long time.

I met a lady who could teach me a traditional Japanese Dance last year but I was already 9month pregnancy.

So she recommended me another thing to do and that was "Shamisen" .

My teacher is 85year old!! It's been really fun being with her and being able to learn something new each time.

アメリカ移民ビザ取得の為には東京の米国大使館に２回も赴かなくてはなりません

今回はその２回目　ショーンをつれて二人で飛行機で行ってきました

時間があまったので、浅草へ・・　ショーンさんは浅草のど真ん中でコックリコックリ・・寝てしまいました

Sean and I went to the American Embassey in Tokyo for the last interview. You have to visit them twice in order to get the immigrant visa! We had some time before the air plane leaves Tokyo so we visited a place called Asakusa. Sean fell asleep in the midst of a huge market there.

電車の中でもいい子でした He was being a good boy in the train

私の従姉妹の文ちゃんが私たち親子を一泊させてくれました。羽田まで迎えに来てくれて、本当に助かりました。　ありがとう！

My cousin, Fumi let us stay at her apartment in Tokyo. She even came to pick us up to the airport! Thank you! It was really helpful!!!

曾おばあさん Great Grandmothers

私の父方の祖母と With my dad's side of grandma

私の母方の祖母が中国地方の子守唄を歌ってくれました

My mom's side of grandma sang a traditional lullaby for Sean.

両方とも祖父たちはもう亡くなってしまっているものの、こうして祖母たちが元気にしていてくれるのは、私にとっても祝福ですが、ショーン君にとっても宝だと思います。これからも元気でいて欲しいものです。

Though both of the grandfathers have passed away, it still is a blessing for me to have my grandmothers alive and seeing them being active and I think it's a great blessing for Sean as well. Hope they will keep it up and keep giving us wonderful influences to our lives.

My mom got a really handy chair.
You can use it for a backpack style or atatch it to the table. Awesome!

ビザ取得の当日。せっかく東京まで来たのだからと、東京で宣教師をしているイアンの弟、アレックに会うことに。
On the morning of the day that we got the VISA, we went to visit Alec who is serving as a missionary there.

沼津Numazu

私のビザと、ショーン君のパスポートの為、東京へ行く途中
イアンの伝道地である静岡県の沼津市へ立ち寄りました イアンにとっては実に５年ぶり
In order to get my visa and Sean's passport, we drove down to Tokyo.
On the way to get there, we stopped at a place called "Numazu"where Ian used to live for 9month when he was a missionary. It's been almost 5year since he left this place.

We got to meet with Brother Sugiyama who got baptized when Ian was there, Mari who was my good friend in Hawaii.

うちのペットというか長男？として愛想をふりまいてくれていたウサギのトンちゃん、

８月に渡米する際、当初は連れて帰る予定でしたが、ショーン君もいるので、無理に。

里子としてもらわれて行くことになりました。

温暖化GlobalWarming

今日はまだ３月の中旬なのに５月の気温。ショーン君も産まれて初めて半そで短パンで過ごしました。
It's still in the middle of March but today's tempreture was as high as May. Sean put his short sleves and pants on for the first time in his life.

今日はここ倉吉の教会に集う若者たち？！を招待。映画会をしました。

ちょっとBYUハワイで学生同士で集まってわいわいしていた頃が懐かしく感じられるひとときでした。

We invited some young church members in Kurayoshi over to our house and had a movie night.

It reminded me of those fun times at BYUH when I used to be able to hang out with my great friends there.

Here in Japan, we celebrate March 3rd as the day for girls;)

Since I'm in Japan, I started collecting some old picture scrolls and little dolls for this celebration. However, I'm the only one who celebrates that in this household because I'm surrounded by guys!! sad!
