Moments That Matter Most

毎週月曜の夜の我家の伝統「家庭の夕べ」
うちの教会で勧められている時間です
そこで先日イアンが分かち合ってくれた
「強さは、強固とした真実と光の土台から
また神聖で一番価値のあるものに注目することから得られる。」
というこのレッスンが最近私の支えになっています
忙しい日々の中、このメッセージで目を覚まされた気がしました

"Strength comes from being settle on a firm foundation of truth and light it comes from paying attention to a divine things that matter most"
Ian shared this in our family home evening the other night and touched my heart.
I think I needed this to make me realize what really is matter most in my life with many things to worry about.

Biker チャリっ子

ショーンのお友達たちは
最近このバランスバイク（ペダル無し自転車）
をかってもらって暴走族のように駆け回っている
それを見たショーンはマイバイクが欲しくなった
ということで
４月に半年早い誕生日プレゼントとして
おばあちゃんに買ってもらった
そして２ヶ月後の今は・・

Sean's buddies here have
this bike called "balance bike"
which teaches them how to balance
before they get on a real bike
Of course Sean wanted it, too
So he got it from his Nonna as a half a year early
birthday gift in April
It's been two months since he got this and watch!

A Father Indeed

去年父の日に私からイアンに送ったメッセージ
最近ショーンの成長の遅れから他の子供と比べては
焦りがちだった私たち
イアンにとっては今年の父の日の特別なメッセージになったみたい
I sent this message to Ian last year's Father's day
Lately, because of Sean's delay in his growth; speech, behavior etc,
we were both having a hard time seeing our own son not being able to
do what he is supposed to be able to do in his age.
But it seems like this message became a wonderful reminder
for Ian this year for Father's day　

Eater 食いしん坊

Bike Trailer バイクトレイラー

ずっと欲しかったバイクトレイラー
日本では見かけないけれど
ここではかなり人気商品です
自転車の後ろにこれをつけてサイクリング
取り外してバギーにすることもできる優れモノ
ガソリンが値上がりしたこのご時世
重宝しています
We finally got a bike trailer/stroller
I've been using this pretty much everyday
since the gas price went up so high
that this could be our "eco car" for now!

WaterDays プールの日

私の仕事の一つとして
毎週屋外プール日を取り仕切っています
ここのアパート郡の芝生の広場に子供用プール
を設定
近所の子供たちが沢山出てきて遊びます
うちの子たちも楽しんでます
A part of my job as a resident manager
is to be in charge of "water days"
every Thursday afternoon during the summer
Whether I like it or not,
the kids here love to hang out and play in those little pools;)

Memorial Day Weekend メモリアルデー

ここボルダーで有名なマラソンボルダーボルダー
面白い格好した人たちもいっぱい
ショーンも盛り上がっていました
来年は私も参加したい！

I was so out of shape this year but I'll do it next year
That's my goal for now!

またまたスムージーの美味しい季節がやってきました
The Smoothie Season has come again!
我家の定番は

牛乳 Milk
はちみつ Honey

時々いちごをみかんに代えても美味しい
If you substitute the strawberries to some mandarin oranges, that is yummy, too!

復活祭 Easter

復活祭に警官？パトカー？！
そうです
ここ家族寮の皆さんに好印象を持って頂きたい
とのコロラド大学警察部
パトカーまで出動してイベントを盛り上げてくれるのです
A police car/man for Easter?!
Yes, our university police department
is always willing to put a nice impression
on kids here in family housing.
Therefore, they help us out with our events.

また春休みがやってきました
ここ家族寮でのイベント、私が引率者だから・・
ということで高～い入場料が無料にしてもらえました
管理人ってこういうときだけ？オトク

今回の特別展示はパイレーツ
こんな姿のお兄さんがうろうろしていた
ので
調子にのって写真撮ってもらいました
（↑ミーハー）

ランチは博物館内で食べると高いし
周りに気を遣うのがイヤなので
弁当持参して外でピクニック

地震２ Earthquake Ⅱ

日本の方はもうこのニュースをご存知だと思いますが
本当に希望を頂き、こんな暗いニュースばかりのなか
ホッとさせられました
自衛隊員の方の笑顔と父親の顔、
私も自分の事のように嬉しくさせられました

I found this article among all the sad and devastating news.
A four month old baby was rescued three days after the tsunami!
This is such a happy news
that it warmed up my heart and put a smile on my face
I love the faces of the baby's dad and especially the solder's smile.

地震１ EarthquakeⅠ

３月１１日午前１時
イアンの父からの電話で起こされる
「日本が大変だ！」
ハラハラしながらスカイプで両親の安否確認を試みる・・
が、繋がらない
インターネットで詳細を検索
仙台あたりが大事らしい
仙台伝道部で伝道している妹のことが心配になった
祈るしかない

11Mar 1:00a.m.
We were woken up by a phone call from Ian's dad
"There was a BIG earthquake in Japan!"
I run up to the computer trying to call my parents on skype
But no connection..
I go online to see if I can get any detail information
The earthquake was M9.0 and it hit the area of Sendai!!!
where my sister is serving her mission in
Unfortunately, the only thing I can do is to pray

３月１１日午前６時
教会員のある姉妹から電話
私の家族のことを心配して電話口で泣いていた
「こんな時だから、安否確認に集中できるように」と
夕飯に招待してくれた
もう一度両親にスカイプを試みる
今回は・・繋がった！
広島は大丈夫な様子
でも妹の安否は不明
ニュースに釘付け
11Mar 6:00a.m.
A sister from the church called
thinking of me and my family sobbing on the phone
"just so that you guys could focus on getting in touch with your family"
she invited us for dinner
I tried again if I could get a hold of my parents at least
It got connected!
Hiroshima is alright but there is no information about my sister, yet
I was glued to the TV

３月１１日午後５時
母から携帯に電話
人からの伝い聞きだが、妹は無事である模様
安心・・涙が出てきた
でもまだ数人の宣教師たちが不明らしい
祈るばかりだ

11Mar 5:00p.m.
Mom called on my cell phone
telling me that she heard from someone that my sister is alive and is safe
I was relieved.. tears ran down on my cheeks
But there are still a few missionaries missing
feel like praying every second

３月１２日
教会は仙台伝道部全ての宣教師の安全を確認
と言ったが、実は二人の姉妹たちがまだ不明であることが発覚
地震直後に連絡があったので安全だと思われていたが、
その後の津波襲来後、連絡がとれなくなっていた
心配だ

The church announced that all the missionaries in Sendai were
safe and accounted for but the president of the mission found out that
there were two sisters still missing (and one of them is my sister's MTC companion!)
Those sisters called in right after the earthquake but the deadly tsunami
hit after the phone call and there was no phone connection after that.
It makes me worried.

３月１３日
母からの電話で、姉妹たちの安全が確認されたことを知る
避難後も人々の事を気にかけて、家々を飛び回っていたらしい
さすがは宣教師、
感動した

I got a phone call from my mom telling me that they found those sisters
safe and alive.
They evacuated from tsunami but were worried about their people
so they were running house to house trying to help them out.
Yes, there are missionaries, the Lord's errands!
I was touched just by imagining them doing the Lord's work even in this horrible situation.

妹たち仙台伝道部の宣教師たちは
一時新潟へ送られた
が、原発の関係で、教会本部から新しい指示が・・
急遽、札幌伝道部へ送られることに
現在は札幌で主の業に携わっています
たくましい、宣教師たち！

All the missionaries in Sendai Mission were sent to
Niigata for a while
But, because of the nuclear plants, the church head quoter decided to
send them to a different mission called "Sapporo Mission".
It happened so quickly that a lot of the missionaries didn't have their things with them.
But they are now in Sapporo continuing the work of the Lord.
I'm very proud of them!

日本旅行 Japan Trip

２月の中旬から３月の頭まで
２週間、仕事の合間をぬって
子供たち２人を連れて
３人で帰省してきました

行きも帰りもＡＮＡだったので
とても親切にしていただいたのですが
やはり二歳半と７カ月の子二人を一人で
乗換２回、計約２０時間の旅は過酷でした・・

両親や親戚と時間を過ごす事に
集中したかった＆チビ二人で余裕無し
というこでたくさんの会いたかったお友達には
会えずじまいでしたが・・
次回はもう少し余裕持って帰省したいです！

ショーンはアンパンマンに大感激
仁君はお祖父ちゃんとのお風呂を楽しんだり
私は美味しい物を食べさせてもらって・・
沢山甘やかしてもらいました

私の祖母たちや親戚一同も一生懸命してくれて、
大感激でした。
また、埼玉や千葉からわざわざ私たちに
会いに帰広してくださった叔母と従兄弟に感謝！
お父さん、お母さん、お騒がせ致しました・・
たくさん、ありがとう！

I went back to visit my family in Hiroshima
for two weeks in February

I took my babies all by myself but this is something
that I wouldn't recommend to anyone to do!haha
I purchased a ticket from ANA(a Japanese airline)
and I had to say that their service was wonderful!
But, yes, it was quite a trip... 3 separate flights, total 20hrs!

Oh well, we did enjoy spending time with
my family and relatives.
My aunt and cousin flew from Tokyo area just to see us!
We had a wonderful time:)
